Photo Scavenger Hunt - Austrian Finds

Hi everyone! Did you miss me? I hope not, as I'd scheduled a run of blog posts while I was on holiday.

We spent last week in the the Salzkammergut, the Austrian Lake District, just east of Salzburg. I always like to get as many photos as possible for Rinda's Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt while I am on holiday, especially if that holiday is in a foreign country.

These are my Austrian finds for this year's hunt:

1. A sign welcoming people to your home town
From my 'home town' for the week

2. A garden gnome
Mine are woodland gnomes - the story of the Gnomes of Seppnhölzl was told on a walk through the woods below Ellmaustein.

4. A group of tourists
Gathered around the font in Salzburg Cathedral with their guide.

5. A rack of post cards
In Fuschl am See

6. An urban street scene
Getreidegasse in Salzburg - notable for its ornate wrought-iron shop signs.

7. A rural landscape
The view from near the summit of Zwölferhorn

8. A tattoo on a person
I didn't see many, but spotted this one on a German holidaymaker at the beach.

9. A bakery
In Salzburg

11. A horn
On the post box of a house in Fuschl am See

16. A sign in a language other than English

17. A lamp post
In Steinbach

18. A waterfall
Just a small one, on the Ellmaubach.

19. A public garden
Mirabellgarten in Salzburg

20. A bus with a picture painted on its sides
A Sound of Music tour bus in Salzburg.

21. You with something representing the season
Me on the water slide into the lake at Fuschl am See. Definitely a summer activity.

Alternative A: A kite, hot air balloon or blimp
How about a paraglider? Above St Gilgen

Alternative B: A bird house
Outside a craft shop in St Gilgen

I'm linking up with some of the other Scavenger Hunters at Rinda's blog where she's hosting a monthly link-up. Why not hop over and see what other people have found so far? The hunt ends on 23 September so there's still plenty of time to join us.

  1. These are great, and bring back memories for me. Hope you had a lovely time (even though it looks as if the weather wasn't always kind...)
