I don't normally do UFOs (UnFinished Objects) or PhDs (Pages half-Done); once I start a page I usually finish it, however long it takes to get it right. However, I've been struggling to get my Austrian photos onto pages I like, and I have two part-made pages to show for my efforts. I've decided to leave them for the moment, and move on to other photos in the hope that I can get my scrappiness flowing again before I return to them.
"Books About Town" was an event organised by the National Literacy Trust last summer. They commissioned 50 BookBench sculptures to celebrate London's literary heritage and laid them out along four trails in London. We completed one trail - the Riverside Trail from Tower Bridge to Waterloo Station - and saw eleven of the benches.
Eleven photos mean a double page, so I turned to my default double page sketch site - Stick It Down - and the current sketch. It actually has four portrait photos, but it was easy enough to adapt, by replacing each one with two smaller landscape photos and extending the row to each side.
I changed the background circle to a bracket-edged rectangle and journalled on paper strips which cross the two sides. The paper behind the photos looks plain in the picture above, but I actually stamped a random pattern on it using two colours of distress ink that match the blue and green in the spotty paper.
The little collection of embellishments is on the top of a card which pulls out with the names of each bench's book title and author.

Great double pager Amanda and the bench photo's look great. They had a similar thing going in Colchester but with giant giraffe statues!
