Ile aux Marins

I'm moving on in my cruise album to our third port of call, Saint-Pierre. This small island lies 16 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, but it's French not Canadian. From there we'd planned to visit the Ile aux Marins, an even smaller island that was inhabited from 1605 to 1965 when the village there was abandoned, but it was too foggy for us to risk the crossing.

We took a few photos of the island from the ship when we arrived, before the fog descended, and I used those for my page. The top photo has the whole of the mile-long island and the others have close-ups including some of the abandoned buildings.
