I'm back with another page from a Stick It Down sketch today, a double, but it's not from the current sketch. This is July's, but I decided to stitch the circles, plus extra smaller ones; it took a while and I didn't finish it before the end of the month. I added translucent yellow circles to the stitching, they aren't really as obvious as appear to be in the photo.
My photos are more old ones - Tattershall Castle is in Lincolnshire where we holidayed in 1999. That title needed lots of As, Ts and Ss so I cut it on my Big Shot rather than depleting a set of letter stickers. I balanced it with the row of asterisks, which were suggested to me by the stars on the sketch, although they are in a different place.

It rarely happens, but this is a re-work of an earlier page that I did for a challenge and really didn't like. The original page is here and I used some of the leftover squares yesterday on a page from the same day. I have three pairs of photos from that day, for three pages and I want them to co-ordinate so my design was dictated by using more of the squares and a bracket-shaped piece in the floral:
Both of my children have pointed out that I shouldn't have a 'Please Feed the Ducks' sign on a page where we were feeding goats, but I think it's cute and I wanted two of the Echo Park cards on each of my pages. Here are the three together:

I've just discovered the weekly challenges at Two Peas in a Bucket (I've only been a member for two years!) and last week's challenge was a sketch from Amy Heller.
The squares reminded me of an offcut of paper leftover from this page which I stitched to the page using my new sewing machine. I decided to scrap more photos from the same day but I wanted to use two of them. I played around with the page until I ended up here:
I almost ruined this page twice. Firstly, I switched the sewing machine from slow to fast instead of slow to manual on one of the lines, and then I dropped my ink pad on the page. Luckily I was able to cover up both of these potential disasters but I must be more careful in future.

I picked a couple of papers that I bought a year ago when my LSS closed down and haven't used yet; then I picked a couple of ancient (1999) photos of my son at a Farm Park. I really like the spotty paper but it hasn't worked on any page in the last year. Perhaps I should start from the paper rather than the photos and use up some of these older sheets...
There's no journalling at the moment as I have more photos from the same day for another page. I may journal on one page, or on both, but I'll decide that later. The squares are on a stark white background and there's no white in the spotty paper so I toned it down with chalk. I'm not sure about the blue letters but I am dangerously low on brown Ts.

I never really liked this page. The squares and circles come from the same collection but they didn't look right together and I didn't like the blockiness of the title. When I was making another page from that day I decided to pull this page apart and re-make it. There were actually three pages in the end, all using the same papers and letters. The blog entries are here, here and here.
