This page has been a long time in the making. I saw the sketch (from ScrapMuch?) at the end of April, and ordered photos from an ELO concert to suit it, but by the time I received the photos I was deep in National Scrapbook Day challenges so it took a while for me to get back to it again.
Then I've been so busy recently that it's taken me a whole week to actually make the page, working on it bit by bit when I had both time and motivation.
As you can see, I kept close to the sketch on the right hand side, but I rotated the photos on the left, which gave me space for journalling strips below the title. I used my Silhouette Portrait for both the title (the band's logo) and for the music note embellishments (cut using a free clip art file). I turned the photo block on the left into a pocket and tucked my ticket and the set list inside.

When I saw last week's sketch from Scrap Much? I was attracted by the diagonally split background. I still have some of Crate Paper's Random collection, and it includes the same peacock print in two colours so I decided to use them together.
It's rather a bold print so I toned it down a little by spreading white acrylic paint on the page with the edge of an old credit card. I picked a few scraps from the same collection and photos of my sister and her husband after they completed a sponsored run in the Olympic Park for Sport Relief.
I chose RUN for the main part of my title and I used silver Thickers because there is a mirrored/metallic RUN sculpture in the Olympic Park (near the Copper Box Arena). The only link between the two is in my head, and anyone looking at my album probably won't spot the connection, but once I had that idea I couldn't turn away from it. I completed my title with KaiserCraft's new tiny alpha stickers, and they really are tiny.

After a diversion through Shimelle's challenges and a belated Capital Ring post, I'm back to my 2015 Cruise album today. Four days after leaving Red Bay in Canada we arrived back in the UK; our final port of call was Belfast. We only had an afternoon there, which really wasn't long enough to see everything the city has to offer.
I'm starting with an arrival/introduction page for Belfast; I've done one for each place we visited and they will divide up the album into sections. I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? which I flipped horizontally because the views in my photos are that way round in real life. The photos were taken from the ship looking across to the Harland & Wolff shipyard and the Titanic Belfast building.

Back to Canada now, and my final page from Corner Brook in Newfoundland. It's a double from the Stream Trails, a network of paths that follow the Corner Brook Stream.
I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? who have had a few useful double page sketches recently.
I wondered about stitching the circle on the sketch, but there's no other stitching in my Canada album, so I decided to use a cut file instead.
My photos are a tad larger than those in the sketch, and I altered the shape of two of them from squares to landscape and portrait shots. My embellishment was strongly influenced by the sketch; the leaf sprigs and flowers just seemed right for this page.

Yes. it's another double page! That's two in less than a week! I don't generally enjoy them, unless I have a good sketch... and this one from ScrapMuch? was almost perfect for my photos from the Captain James Cook Historic Site in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
I did add an extra photo on the left, and I changed the size of one of the photos on the right to give extra importance to the statue of Captain Cook. He was the first person to reliably map the coast of Newfoundland, and it was this work that led to his later voyages to the Pacific.
The Historic Site is a small area of parkland at the top of Crow Hill. It was quite a walk, but definitely worth it for the views over the bay. I used another of the view photos on my Corner Brook title page - here.
There's no 'proper' title as it is on the left-most photo, with some journalling strips beneath it. I could have written directly on the background on the right, but I used strips again so that it would end just above the photos, and I wouldn't either run out of space or have an awkward gap.

That's Sydney in Nova Scotia, not it's more famous namesake. It was the fourth stop on our cruise this summer and this is the 'title' page for that day. I'm making a introductory page for each port in my album, and this is the second (Killybegs was the first). I'd imagined using two 4x6 landscape photos for each of these pages, but looking through my photos from Sydney I soon changed my mind, and picked three pictures instead.
The top photo is the view of the town as we arrived, the bottom left has the town's name in signal flags and the bottom right photo is the largest fiddle in the world, a symbol of the island's Celtic culture.
I used the 6 November sketch from Scrap Much? for my page, but I rotated it and flipped it to suit my photos.
I'm trying to use my stamps in this album, as they make motifs that are easy to repeat. In particular, each of these 'arrival' pages will have an 'Entry Date' stamp with the day and date.

I'm a member of a couple of scrapbooking groups on Facebook, and one of them set the first in a series of 'Friday Focus' challenges last week - to focus on layers and/or doilies. ScrapMuch? posted their latest sketch the same day, and it's a serendipitous combination of layers and doilies.
I'm still working through the photos from our cruise to Ireland and Canada this summer. I have quite a few page ideas fizzing about in my head, and one of those was for our return to Liverpool. It wasn't an idea for the layout itself, but I knew it would be a single 4x6 photo page, and I knew that the title would be the song "Right Back Where We Started From".

I'm sharing another page from a ScrapMuch? sketch today, and this time it's the current sketch. It caught my attention when it was published last Friday, and I looked through my cruise pictures to find a set of four that I could print at an appropriate size.
I picked pictures from St John's (Newfoundland) where we climbed up Signal Hill, above the harbour, in time to see and hear them fire the Noon Day Gun.
There's no journalling yet because this will be one in a series of pages about Signal Hill and I'm not sure how the story will run across all the pages yet.

I will need to make a lot of pages with 4x6 photos for my cruise album, so I've been bookmarking suitable sketches when I see them but don't have enough time to use them immediately. This page is based on one of the September sketches from ScrapMuch?
It also incorporates this month's Stash Challenge from Scrap Our Stash, one to create a layout using stash items for each of the letters of the word INKS. Mine are Inked edges, Notebook border and No Limits paper, the title Killybegs, Star Sticker and Stamping.
I used two photos of the town of Killybegs in the Republic of Ireland, the first stop on our cruise. The top one is the view from our ship's berth; the bottom one is a view across the bay as we walked into town.
I'm planning to make introductory pages like this for each of the towns/cities that we visited, to act as dividers in the album and to make it clear where each set of photos were taken. The stamped circle on the right isn't very clear, but it reads 'Entry Date'. I'll repeat this on each introductory page, and then I won't need to date all the intervening pages too.

"Here" being Liverpool, the embarkation port for our cruise this summer. The cruise terminal is at the Pier Head, close to the Three Graces (the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool building).
I'm working with Heidi Swapp's No Limits collection (plus other co-ordinating papers) for this album and I have her wood veneer pieces, including the word 'Adventure' which I used in my title. The natural colour didn't show up very well against my paper so I coloured it with a black ink pad. The tag reads 'The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page' which was perfect for the start of our cruise.
I used the latest sketch from Scrap Much? for my page, but the page layout wasn't quite working with my title below the photo as pictured, and I wasted a lot of time fiddling around with it. Once I decided to move the title up above the photo it came together at last.

It's been a few months since I joined in with one of Miniowner's sketch challenges. They always go on my 'to do' list, but sometimes I run out of month, and then new sketches come along. I've been sorting through my 2015 photographs recently, and when I saw this month's sketch I knew which photos I wanted to use.
We took a short break in the Peak District at the start of the school summer holidays, and when we stopped in Disley for some shopping I spotted Barney Storey's gold post box by the main road. The Royal Mail painted more than 100 post boxes gold in 2012 to celebrate our Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists but there aren't any near us and this was the first we'd seen.
I had a scrap of gold pattern vellum that I intended to incorporate, even before Scrap Much? posted their colour challenge for this month; it's a simple one - to use gold, preferably in a significant way. I think gold vellum (and gold mist) for one our gold medal winners is significant, don't you?
The bottom part of the page came together quite easily but I couldn't find a patterned paper that worked as a background. I assembled the other layers and tried them against a variety of papers but had to settle on plain cardstock (sprinkled with mist) in the end.

I've reached that point in the year when I still haven't finished last year's albums, but this year's photos are stacking up and demanding my attention. It happens every year, and the lure of new photos always wins. They're not piling up too quickly yet, I've counted 5 singles and 4 doubles that will bring this year up-to-date so I can go back to 2014.
My first 2015 page was made with this month's sketch at ScrapMuch?, though I did play with the dimensions to suit my landscape photographs. I found that the notebook paper I punched didn't really fit at the top of the page, so I moved it on to the side instead.
When I find older embellishments that I have half-forgotten, and want to use up, I keep them on my desk in plain view. The flower is one of those pieces and it feels good to get it on a page at last.
The pictures are my daughter and her fellow Scouts being presented with various awards and badges, including the Chief Scout's Gold Award. They have all moved on to become Explorer Scouts now.
